Job Description

Outline of Role

We wish to appoint an enthusiastic and experienced clinician to join the Division to provide teaching in Dental Public Health (UG BDS and PG students) and contribute to research within the highly successful Applied Health research theme within the Division. There will also be opportunities for the successful candidate to collaborate with the Department of Public Health and the Epidemiology and Public Health Group.

They will also contribute to the strategic overview of Oral Health within the Trust and Greater Manchester.

The candidate will strengthen links with key stakeholders responsible for oral/dental health within and out-with Manchester. They will also contribute to the strategic overview of Oral Health within the Trust and Greater Manchester.

The post holder will hold a substantive contract of employment with the University of Manchester. They will be managerially and academically responsible to the University and specifically to the Head of the Division of Dentistry. The post holder will also be responsible to the Medical Director for the University Dental Hospital of Manchester.

This post is for 8 PAs – made up of 6 PAs with the University of Manchester and 2 PAs with Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

Duration of the post

This is a substantive permanent post.

If appointed at Senior Lecturer level, the successful candidate will have a period of academic probation up to, but not exceeding, four years (nominally three years).

Appraisal will occur annually, and the successful candidate will be expected to undergo annual Performance and Development Reviews (University) and Trust appraisal.

You will be required to complete mandatory / essential training for both employers.
