Job Description

Context of the Role

The Manchester Academy for Healthcare Scientist Education (MAHSE) is a collaborative initiative involving multiple universities, healthcare providers, and other key stakeholders. MAHSE supports the delivery of postgraduate education and training for healthcare scientists by offering specialised programmes, including the Scientist Training Programme (STP) and Higher Specialist Scientist Training (HSST), enabling scientists to gain advanced clinical and academic skills to enhance patient care and drive innovation in healthcare.

We are excited to offer two Administrator opportunities:

  • One post will primarily support the Scientist Training Programme (STP)
  • One post will primarily support the Higher Specialist Scientist Training (HSST)

You will join a supportive team that plays a vital role in coordinating postgraduate training programmes that directly impact patient care and healthcare innovation.

As part of the MAHSE administrative team, you will:

  • Work closely with academic, clinical, and professional partners across the sector
  • Develop valuable skills in administration, communication, and stakeholder engagement in a higher education and healthcare setting
  • Support a national workforce training initiative in collaboration with NHS England and the National School of Healthcare Science (NSHCS)

Each post holder will work closely with the MAHSE Manager, MAHSE Director and the relevant MAHSE Deputy Director (STP or HSST) to support programme delivery. Both roles involve extensive liaison with Programme Directors, administrators across partner universities, and external stakeholders including NHS Trusts, employers, commissioners, and the NSHCS.

What you will get in return:

  • Fantastic market leading Pension scheme
  • Excellent employee health and wellbeing services including an Employee Assistance Programme
  • Exceptional starting annual leave entitlement, plus bank holidays
  • Additional paid closure over the Christmas period
  • Local and national discounts at a range of major retailers

As an equal opportunities employer we welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of age, sex, gender (or gender identity), ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation and transgender status. All appointments are made on merit.
