Job Description

We wish to appoint an exceptional Research Associate in Implementation Science to join the Implementation Science research theme of the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration for Greater Manchester (NIHR ARC-GM) based at the University of Manchester. NIHR ARC-GM aims to undertake timely, needs-driven, transformative applied health and social care research to benefit communities locally and nationally.

Challenges in getting proven innovations, technologies, and ways of working rapidly adopted into policy and practice is a concern both nationally and internationally. Implementation science and use of real-world evidence are designated as the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) areas of research interest.

The postholder will have the skills to work as part of a research team to conduct research of local, regional and national importance across health and care. The successful candidate will work with partners to deliver a range of evaluations focused on implementation/de-implementation, large-scale health and care service change and/or policy implementation. Demonstration of a commitment to research co-production; working with health and care system partners and or industry will be essential for this role, as will experience of qualitative research methods.

The postholder will work with Professor Paul Wilson, Dr Laura Sheard and other members of the NIHR ARC team and will be based in the Centre for Primary Care and Health Services Research in the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health.

This is a full-time post based in Manchester and hybrid working arrangements are possible (with agreement from your line manager).
