Job Description


Overall Purpose of the Job

To work as part of the Research Services team in the Faculty of Science and Engineering to deliver a high-quality research support service to the academic and research community.

You will support academic and research staff in costing and submitting high quality research proposals for funding. You will also manage the award set up process and the recruitment of project staff and project changes. The role will require you to work across organisational boundaries with other professional services colleagues across the University to support research activity, to maximize the University’s ability to attract research income, undertake high quality research and exploit research outcomes.

Expectations

Whilst full training will be given we are looking for candidates with strong administrative skills, financial literacy and the ability to work under pressure.

Candidates must also have strong communication and time management skills in order to support a portfolio of academic and research staff from across the Faculty. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate and evidence these skills both at application and interview. Interview stage will comprise of a written test and interview.
