The School of Social Sciences are looking to appoint a Senior Department Administrator. You should have significant experience of providing excellent administrative support and experience of line management of a PS team. You should also possess excellent problem solving and negotiation skills. You will engage in communities of practice to achieve continuous business improvement and standardisation, working in collaboration with colleagues in the faculty and the wider University. You will be responsible for the line management of a small team of colleagues in the school department support team.
The School Senior Administrator is a key operational role in the school. You will support the Deputy School Operations Manager [DSOM] and School Operations Manager [SOM] to deliver key operations activities across the school, and within departments, and to ensure efficient and effective support, advice and guidance is provided to all stakeholders. Operating as part of the interdepartmental School Operations Team and reporting into the Deputy School Operations Manager, you will undertake projects and champion activities on behalf of the school.
We are seeking someone with a demonstrable and successful track record of independent and collaborative problem solving and who can foster a culture of teamwork, whilst being able to support and develop continuous improvement to process and performance across the business area.
The ideal candidate for this role must demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively and flexibly within a culture of continuous improvement. Additionally, they should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
