The School of Biological Sciences are looking to appoint a Senior Administrator. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of operational colleagues across the school, working closely with the Divisional Operations Managers and School Operations Manager. The successful candidate should have significant experience of providing administrative support and experience of line management or supervision. They must possess effective problem solving and negotiation skills. They will engage in communities of practice to achieve continuous business improvement and standardisation, working in collaboration with colleagues in the Faculty and the wider University. The post-holder will be responsible for the line management of a small team of colleagues in the School divisional support team.
The Senior Administrator is a key operational role in the School. The post holder will support the Divisional Operations Managers [DOMS] and School Operations Manager [SOM] to deliver key operations activities across the School, and within divisions, and to ensure efficient and effective support, advice and guidance is provided to all stakeholders. Working as part of the wider School Operations Team and reporting into the Divisional Operations Manager, the post-holder will undertake projects and champion activities on behalf of the School.
We are seeking someone with a demonstrable and successful track record of independent and collaborative problem solving and who can foster a culture of teamwork, whilst being able to support and develop continuous improvement to processes and performance across the business area.
The ideal candidate for this role must demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively and flexibly within a culture of continuous improvement. Additionally, they should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
