We have an exciting opportunity to appoint a talented research technician to join The Versus Arthritis Centre for Genetics and Genomics (CfGG). The post is full-time and available until 30/11/2030. The CfGG is dedicated to investigating genetic and genomic risk factors for inflammatory arthritis based at the University of Manchester. Suitable candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant biological science subject and/or substantial experience working in a research laboratory. Experience in molecular biology techniques, including DNA extraction from whole blood, gel electrophoresis, genotyping, immunoassays, PBMC isolation and cell culture will be a strong advantage. However, relevant training will be provided. Ability to work flexibly and sometimes out of hours is necessary as samples arrive at different times in the day.
Working within a team of geneticists, clinicians and statisticians the successful candidate will support all aspect of laboratory work, generating high quality genetic and genomic data sets to address clinically important research questions.
