We are seeking a motivated and collaborative individual to join our team as a Teaching, Learning and Student Experience Administrator (Assessment & Progression). This role offers an exciting opportunity to support the day-to-day administration of teaching, assessment and student processes across the team’s area of work. You will help provide a reliable, supportive service for students and staff, while looking for practical ways to improve how we work, and work closely with colleagues across the wider team and University, especially during busy assessment periods when a flexible and joined-up approach matters most.

You will be responsible for:

  • Support the administration of assessment, progression and related student processes across the team’s area of work.
  • Coordinate day-to-day tasks, provide guidance to colleagues, and act as a point of contact within the team.
  • Provide clear and professional advice and support to students, academic colleagues and professional services staff.
  • Organise and support formal meetings, including exam boards and malpractice hearings, and prepare papers and notes as required.
  • Review and improve administrative processes to support consistency, efficiency and service quality.

We welcome candidates who bring diverse perspectives, experiences, and approaches to their work.

About You

We encourage applications from individuals with a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. You should demonstrate:

Essential Criteria:

  • Relevant knowledge of teaching and learning and/or student administration policies and procedures.

  • Strong communication, organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good digital skills, with the ability to use and learn relevant systems.
  • Ability to prioritise a varied workload, meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality, and provide a high standard of customer service.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience of coordinating work activities; desirable experience of working with systems such as Campus Solutions and in a customer service environment.
  • Ability to work flexibly during peak periods in the academic year, including at times outside normal working hours where required, and to accommodate restricted annual leave during key points in the assessment cycle.
  • Willingness to undertake duties such as supporting in-house exam sessions and moving materials across campus where needed.

We value transferable skills and real-world experience as much as formal qualifications.

Our benefits include:

  • Generous employer pension contribution
  • Christmas closure across all departments outside of annual leave and bank holidays
  • Purple Place employee discount platform
