We are seeking to appoint three Research Associates: two laboratory-based scientists and one bioinformatician, across three groups with a focus on ovarian cancer. The posts sit within a collaborative, multi-group research team bringing together expertise in cell and molecular biology, cancer pharmacology, multi-omics approaches and medical oncology, embedded within Manchester’s wider cancer research ecosystem.
If you join us, you will:
- Be part of a highly collaborative, team-based programme spanning discovery to translational science, supported by a well-established and well-equipped laboratory
- Have access to a unique “living biobank” of >170 patient-derived ovarian cancer models – one of the largest and most diverse collections of its kind
- Apply cutting-edge approaches, such as multi-omics analysis with machine learning (Role 3); Nanopore sequencing to study DNA replication dynamics or cell barcoding to track clones (Role 1). Or to interrogate tumour cell-intrinsic transcriptional subtypes, testing how subtype-specific programmes arise, shape tumour behaviour, and create therapeutic vulnerabilities (Role 2)
- Contribute to research aiming to deliver biomarker-driven, precision medicine strategies for ovarian cancer
- Be based at the Christie Hospital campus, one of Europe’s leading cancer centres, within the Manchester Cancer Research Centre partnership
