Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and collaborative individual to join our team as a Research Fellow in Health and Care Evaluation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to conduct robust and timely service evaluation in response to the needs of the funder and other stakeholders, within a dynamic and inclusive environment.

You will be responsible for:

  • Designing and conducting health and care evaluations using qualitative and/or mixed methods methodologies and using appropriate frameworks and theories as required;
  • Leading the co-production of research with external stakeholders;
  • Contributing to the design, conduct and analysis of research under the direction of Theme Leads, leading elements of it;
  • Conducting data analysis using appropriate software;

Essential Criteria:

  • Ability to design, conduct and deliver high-quality qualitative and/or mixed methods health and care evaluations.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret complex qualitative and/or mixed methods data and present clear findings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor outputs for academic, policy, practice and public audiences.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with researchers, practitioners, policy makers, funders, patients and members of the public.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Ability to contribute to methodological development, including approaches for rapid or short-timescale evaluations.
  • Experience using relevant qualitative data analysis software to support rigorous and transparent analysis.
  • Ability to develop research ideas into competitive funding applications.
  • Ability to support, mentor or supervise junior colleagues or postgraduate research students.
