An enthusiastic and committed postdoctoral research associate is required to join the Arthritis UK Centre for Genetics and Genomics, based at the University of Manchester. You will work closely with a research team working on a MRC funded project which aims to characterize non-coding regions of the genome that confer risk to osteoarthritis (OA) using functional genomics, with the ultimate goal of identifying the genes that cause OA, the mechanisms by which OA-associated SNPs alter their target genes, and novel therapeutic targets.
The post holder must hold a PhD and excellent knowledge of the genetics of OA and will be responsible for analysing, integrating and interpreting genomics and functional genomics datasets including Hi-C, CUT&RUN, ATAC-Seq and RNA-Seq, among others, alongside the generation of polygenic risk scores and functional annotation of genetic risk variants.
