Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and collaborative individual to join our team as an EDI Project Officer within the Directorate of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI).

This role offers an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of University‑wide EDI projects that make a visible difference to colleagues and students. Working as part of a collaborative central team, you will help translate strategic priorities into well‑organised project activity, supporting inclusive change across the University.

This is a full‑time (35 hours per week) role, based on the University’s Oxford Road campus.

You will work closely with EDI Partners, the EDI Project Manager, senior leaders, Faculties and Professional Services to ensure projects are well coordinated, progress is tracked and stakeholders are supported. Current areas of focus include Multifaith and Chaplaincy work and the Future Families project.

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing high‑quality project support, including drafting reports, maintaining documentation and managing communications
  • Coordinating project activity across teams and stakeholders, ensuring actions are tracked and delivered
  • Supporting engagement and working groups, including organising meetings, preparing papers and following up actions
  • Monitoring project progress, risks and impact, and producing updates for senior stakeholders
  • Supporting communications activity to promote EDI projects and share good practice

We welcome candidates who bring diverse perspectives, experiences, and approaches to their work.

About You
We encourage applications from individuals with a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. You should demonstrate:

Essential Criteria

  • Experience providing high‑level administrative or project support in a complex organisation
  • Experience coordinating projects, including planning, tracking progress and maintaining records
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across a wide range of stakeholders
  • A commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion and supporting inclusive practice

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience supporting strategy delivery or organisational change projects
  • Experience analysing data and producing reports or management information
  • Experience supporting meetings or committees, including minute‑taking and follow‑up actions
  • Experience managing digital content or communications channels

We value attention to detail, collaboration and a proactive approach to problem‑solving as much as formal qualifications.

Our benefits include:
• Generous employer pension contribution
• Christmas closure in addition to annual leave and bank holidays
• Access to training and professional development opportunities
