Microsoft Purview Specialist (Grade 7)

We’re looking for a Microsoft Purview Specialist to play a key role in securing and governing our Microsoft 365 data environment.
This is an opportunity to work at scale – supporting world-class research and education – while helping the University balance innovation, collaboration and compliance.
What you’ll be doing
Lead the design and delivery of Microsoft Purview solutions across Microsoft 365
Implement data protection controls including Information Protection, DLP and retention policies
Partner with IT, Information Governance and research teams to enable secure, compliant data use
Own and evolve our Purview roadmap, ensuring continuous improvement and adoption
Support risk monitoring, investigations and regulatory compliance (e.g. GDPR, FOI, SAR)

Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview and M365 security/compliance tooling
Understanding of data governance and regulatory frameworks
Ability to strike the right balance between security, usability and productivity
Experience in complex environments (e.g. higher education, research or enterprise)
