The Role:
As a senior member of the Estates & Facilities Leadership Team, the Associate Director of Estates (Strategy and Innovation) will participate in the university strategic planning, strategic innovation development and lead the future-focused integrated infrastructure plan (IIP). The role ensures that the EF directorate is placed at the heart of strategy formation in the University ensuring the IIP, and the Estates and Facilities directorate plan continue to develop and drive the University’s strategic ambitions, academic priorities and long-term estate requirements.
You Will:
- Lead the development and continuous refresh of the University’s IIP, ensuring the SOII (statements of infrastructure intent) are developed into a 10-year SPECT (space, place, engineering, condition, technology) portfolio ensuring alignment with institutional strategy and academic priorities.
- Lead the development of a long-term, integrated infrastructure portfolio of delivery, aligning physical estate, digital infrastructure and service transformation requirements into an investable SPECT portfolio of delivery.
- Translate strategic ambition into clear, prioritised SPECT investment and delivery programmes that external investment is attracted to and that we have investable propositions for the commercial markets.
- Provide strategic oversight of the development of a smart campus and digital estate approach.
- Provide strategic leadership for environmental sustainability across the estate, including delivery of net zero carbon targets and climate resilience.
- Lead institution-wide engagement to co-create estate and IIP with Faculties, Professional Services and external partners.
You Will Bring:
- Significant senior experience in estates, infrastructure, digital, sustainability or transformation roles within complex organisations.
- Demonstrable experience of leading large-scale transformation, innovation or service delivery/redesign programmes.
- Experience of leading multidisciplinary teams across areas such as sustainability, digital/technology, capital, planning, property or transformation.
- Ability to translate strategic ambition into deliverable programmes and outcomes.
- Experience of digital transformation, smart buildings or smart campus initiatives.
- Ability to influence decision making and secure buy in at senior levels across the University.
