Delivery of our sport and physical activity strategy is through UoM Sport which is based across our campuses primarily in Fallowfield at the Armitage Sports Centre and in Manchester University Students’ Union on Oxford Road. Our activities take place across the city utilising a range of city facilities in supporting our community being active and promoting physical activity opportunities through our facilities and programmes.
The University is looking to appoint a Lead Strength and Conditioning Coach to shape and implement the Strength and Conditioning service as part of our Performance Sport strategy. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the year-round leadership and co-ordination of the service at UoM Sport; specifically, sport scholarship and TASS athletes, three performance sport teams and our broader Team Manchester programme.
The Lead Strength and Conditioning Coach will be responsible for the safe and effective physical development of athletes and teams and ensure we provide a suitable environment for all athlete to achieve and develop towards their potential. The role holder will also be a keen team player, with the ability to both manage assistant strength and conditioning coaches as well as identify and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure we provide an outstanding service to our students, staff and local community where relevant.
We are therefore looking for an enthusiastic and engaging individual to join UoM Sport to support our students and staff being more physically active in our programmes and facilities.
This role is customer facing and therefore is either mostly or entirely campus based without the opportunity for hybrid working.
