
Applications are invited for a committed individual to take the role as a Research Officer at The Trauma Audit & Research Network (TARN). TARN is the mandated audit for trauma care and collects data from Hospitals across England, Wales and Ireland for the purpose of analysis and dissemination which in turn, aims to drive an improvement in the standards of care for the severely injured patient.
TARN has a strong global reputation in trauma research and holds the largest European trauma registry. In the last 10 years, the group has generated 100+ publications with a further 50+ ongoing research projects within its portfolio. In parallel, TARN’s research has helped to influence NHS policy changes that drive improvements in care and outcome of the injured patient.
The overall purpose of this job is to support to the Trauma Audit & Research Network and the TARN Research Committee in both projects and tasks associated with the TARN Research Agenda. As a member of the TARN Research Committee, you will provide support in the effective delivery of the TARN Research Administration Cycle that supports the research activity within the group. This will include collating and monitoring research actions distributed amongst members of the Research Committee, responsible for maintaining key documentation for the tracking of new projects and existing projects. Under the supervision of the TARN Research Committee, take responsibility for the allocation and monitoring of Data Sharing Agreements as well as liaising directly with researchers.
As part of a medium sized team, the post will incorporate hybrid working (in line with University of Manchester principles) and will therefore involve working both in the TARN office, based at Salford Royal Hospital which is part of the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust and working from home.
