
Applications are invited for a research position within the condensed matter physics group in the Department of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Manchester. The successful candidate will join a vibrant team of researchers who have been at the forefront of graphene research since its discovery in 2004 and will work on a series of projects relating to graphene and other 2D materials funded by the EPSRC, European Commission and a range of other international funders.
The post is available from 1 January 2023 for a period of 24 months. The project will focus on the investigation of the ion transport properties of new 2D materials. The successful candidate should have already submitted her/his PhD dissertation in Physics or Chemistry. As an essential requirement, the candidate must have experience in device micro-fabrication in clean room environment and precision electrical measurements. The candidate should also be well-organised and self-motivated, with excellent communication skills. A strong publication record in internationally peer-reviewed journals would be a considerable advantage. The applicant must already have the right to live and work in the UK.
