
A new post has come up to lead on implementing and carrying out research as part of a multicenter national study of prodromal Alzheimer’s disease, the NIHR/MRC funded Deep and Frequent Phenotyping study. It uses advanced imaging, CSF, blood, and computerised cognitive and gait assessments in preparation of clinical treatment trials.
The post-holder will also work on other studies and trials.
The post holder will be employed through the University of Manchester and hold an honorary contract with the Greater Manchester Mental Health Trust to join the Greater Manchester Dementia Research Centre.
The post holder will hold a PhD in clincal psychology or a closely allied discipline, eg cognitive neuroscience, with a research background in dementia, neurodegeneration, or neuroscience.
The post holder will have experience in advanced MR imaging analysis, in successfully coordinating complex clinical trial designs including governance, patient recruitment/management, interaction across multiple teams and centres, working with patients and older participants, and in conducting neuropsychological assessments and behavioural questionnaires.
The post-holder will coordinate and carry out activities necessary to successfully implement the Deep and Frequent Phenotyping (DFP) Study in Manchester. The post-holder will train and supervise research practitioners to support the research activities.
There are opportunities for the post-holder to be involved in other, related studies of the research team. It may serve as a base for a future fellowship application for an early career researcher and a project grant.
The post will start on the 01/04/2023 for 1 year initially. This is a full time post.
