
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will be based in the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology (MIB) and Department of Chemistry working with Prof Jason Micklefield.
We are looking for an ambitious scientist who is keen to discover, characterise and engineer novel enzymatic pathways to antibiotics and other important bioactive molecules. We are particularly interested in pathways to bioactive peptides and polyketide natural products. Our lab is also interested in exploiting enzymes for synthetic applications telescoping routes to pharmaceuticals and other valuable products. Applicants possessing relevant skills in biochemistry and/or molecular biology/microbial genetics are encouraged to apply.
