Job Description

The Masood Entrepreneurship Centre (MEC) is the focal point for enterprise and entrepreneurship programmes for students, recent graduates and staff delivered across the University through on-curricular teaching and co-curricular activities. The core mission of MEC is to deliver “Entrepreneurship for All” – to make entrepreneurship education accessible to all, across all subjects and at all levels, to develop entrepreneurial capacities and mind-sets in our students, staff, and recent graduates. We have ambitious plans and aspirations for the future – to make entrepreneurship work for every student regardless of discipline, profession or career trajectory.

Overall Purpose of Job

Reporting to and working in concert with the MEC Deputy Director the role will support the development of our growing MEC community of student, staff and graduate entrepreneurs, including current and former participants in MEC programmes, fostering lasting relationships with MEC for mutual benefit. To set in place actions to help MEC make a greater impact across the University and to enable our graduates to make a difference in their careers around the world. To contribute to identity-building initiatives, awareness raising activities and other programmes to improve the visibility of MEC for internal and external stakeholders and ensure a strategic link up with ID Manchester’s venture partner team and the wider entrepreneurship ecosystem. As we approach the University ‘Bicentenary’ there needs to be more visibility of entrepreneurship as part of the University’s ‘Our Futures’ strategy, connecting it to all the key thematic areas and building productive collaborations and partnerships.
