Job Description

The School of Arts, Language and Cultures at the University of Manchester invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for a part-time (0.75 FTE) temporary teaching-focused Lectureship in Forensic Linguistics.

You will convene and teach (on campus) two course units (or equivalent) in the areas of Corpus Linguistics and Forensic Linguistics, and contribute to first or second marking of additional course units in English Language. The units are offered as part of the single honours Undergraduate programmes in Linguistics and English Language and joint honours programmes with either of these subjects, and of the MA Linguistics programme. You will be expected to teach lectures and seminars, to set assessment, to undertake all the marking, to update existing course materials and a virtual learning environment on Blackboard. You will hold two office hours per week, and answer student queries by email and/or on the course units’ discussion boards. You may be asked to supervise a small number of undergraduate and MA dissertations.
