For over 60 years, The University of Manchester has been at the forefront of Development Studies and The Global Development Institute (GDI) continues to drive forward new ideas promoting sustainable development and social justice for all.
Researchers at the GDI are addressing some of the biggest challenges the world faces including the politics of development, growth, agrarian and urban changes, the opportunities and challenges of digital and migration, global production networks and the effectiveness of development organisations.
Working as part of the GDI Communications and Impact Team, the Digital Communications Officer is responsible for responsible for planning and delivering communication activities across a wide range of digital channels to help raise the profile of GDI’s work and enhance its potential for impact.
The Digital Communications Officer has a vital role in creating engaging new content, presenting research and insights for different audiences and running the key digital channels including the website, blog, e-newsletter, podcast, video, webinars and social media. While the role focuses on communicating GDI’s research outputs and insights, it also takes a lead in supporting student recruitment and identifying potential areas of synergy.
