Applications are invited for a Research Associate in Neurovascular Science (2 posts available) to undertake an exciting project supported by the AstraZeneca’s Open Innovation CoSolve Challenge Award 2023 on genetic neurodegenerative diseases at Professor Tao Wang’s lab.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a devastating neurodegenerative disease that primarily affect motoneurons and accompanied by cognitive dysfunction in many cases. The cellular processes involved in ALS are extremely complex. Despite intensive research, the exact molecular mechanisms have not been fully understood, thus, there is no specific nor effective treatment available. Genetic factors play an important role in the development of this condition. This project is to create 3D model systems and explore molecular mechanisms underlying genetic amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
