
The main purpose of this post is to manage a portfolio of Head & Neck research within the Radiotherapy Related Research group in the Division of Cancer Sciences. The project manager will facilitate the set up and running of a number of national phase I/II clinical trials (including PROTIS and TORPEdO) funded by CRUK. The post holder may also be required to support research across multiple tumour types.
The post holder will be responsible for managing and co-ordinating complex, multidisciplinary projects, providing advice and support for grant and clinical trial preparation and submission, and producing accurate, high quality progress reports for each project within the overarching programme of research. The post holder will collaborate actively within the University and with multiple stakeholders across other academic and healthcare institutions both nationally and internationally to complete research projects.
Experience in research project management in a clinical academic setting, together with efficient and innovative problem-solving skills are essential to ensure the programme of research is delivered on time, within budget and with the highest impact.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal, communication, IT, and organisational skills, will be able to work with minimal supervision, and will have experience of working in an academic research environment.
