Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated biochemist, structural or membrane biologist to work as a research technician in a world leading lab (Politis Lab) in structural and biological mass spectrometry. Core duties include to provide technical support and supervision in a range of project specific research activities including: expression and purification of membrane proteins; working with eukaryotic expression systems supported by lipid bilayers; preparation of high-quality sample for mass spectrometry analyses; use and teaching of research associated equipment. The technician will also be responsible for the general running of the laboratory, including maintaining stocks of chemicals, placing orders, preparing solutions, maintaining relevant equipment. To further assist team members in ensuring that staff and students operate safe working practices ensuring health and safety compliance within the laboratories.

The contract is offered for 21 months.

Start date: 31st May 2024 or soon thereafter.
