Job Description

Alliance Manchester Business School (AMBS) seeks to appoint a teaching and scholarship focused Lecturer in Innovation Management.  We are looking for a talented educator who is committed to providing our students with learning experiences that are innovative, engaging and rewarding, befitting a world-class business school.  We seek someone who is passionate about student learning and development, who values a scholarly approach to teaching, and who is committed to enhancing teaching and learning in business schools.

The post holder will be based in the Innovation, Strategy and Sustainability (ISS) Group, which is part of the Innovation Management and Policy Division.  The successful candidate will provide excellent teaching and learning for our undergraduate and postgraduate students in the area of innovation management, broadly defined.

The ISS group offers two MSc programmes (Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Business) and its members contribute to one of the school’s core undergraduate programmes, the BSc Management (Innovation, Strategy and Entrepreneurship).  Innovation-focused units on these programmes are varied and include Innovation and Markets, Foundations of Strategy and Innovation, and International Competitiveness and Innovation. We also provide courses for students from other programmes and on the Doctoral Training Programme. The successful candidate’s portfolio of work will reflect both the needs of the group and the candidate’s particular areas of interest and expertise.

The Lecturer appointment will be made on the University of Manchester’s Teaching and Scholarship basis, with a typical workload split of 80% for teaching, supervision and leadership activities and 20% for scholarship activity. New appointments will receive additional allowance for personal development in the first 3 years.
