Job Description

Senior Technical Specialist in MRI Physics

We seek an expert MR physicist with a demonstrated history of significant achievements to lead MR physics support at the University of Manchester’s Imaging Facilities. You will provide advanced technical skills and knowledge in MR imaging physics to enable and enhance the work of academic and research staff across clinical and basic science. This role will impact all stages of MRI research, with a focus on developing and applying analytical methodology to extract meaningful information from complex MRI datasets and training others in this.

The University of Manchester’s Imaging Facilities provides state-of-the-art clinical imaging equipment to support world-leading research into basic science and human disease modelling. The Imaging Facilities manages two MRI scanners: a 3T Philips Achieva and a 3T GE Signa PET-MR. We also have dedicated access to a 3T Philips MR scanner at the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust, supporting translational research. We support a wide spectrum of imaging research, in particular in neuro-imaging methods development, cognitive neuroscience, neuro-oncology, dementia, musculoskeletal and cardiovascular imaging.
