Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious post-doctoral graduate with the ability and confidence to manage a project on developing new emissive materials with Vivimed Labs Europe

The University of Manchester and Vivimed Labs Europe are looking to recruit an Optoelectronic Materials Research Chemist (KTP Associate) to manage this 24 month project on developing new materials that show efficient thermally activated delayed fluorescence for application in emissive display devices.

You will have a unique opportunity to a central role in the development of a new commercial product, applying your expertise in synthetic chemistry, theoretical chemistry and materials analysis. You will gain proficiency in a variety of analytical techniques and play a central role in the transfer of this knowledge to Vivimed Labs Europe Ltd (VLE). By working in close partnership with industry and academia, you will gain business acumen, develop intellectual property and publish papers in leading academic journals.

You will have, or be working towards, a PhD in synthetic organic chemistry, materials chemistry or optoelectronic materials.

This post is funded through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) award, a UK Government scheme intended to promote sustained and mutually beneficial relationships between universities and industry.

Based at Vivimed Labs Europe, Hexagon Tower, Delaunays Rd, Blackley, Manchester M9 8GQ, you will work directly with supervisors from both the University and Vivimed Labs Europe and will use the facilities and resources of both organisations.

Due to the nature of the funding, KTP Associates who have already completed a KTP are not eligible to apply.
