
A Research Associate position is available for an outstanding and ambitious data scientist to undertake analysis of large-scale complex NHS data. You will use cutting edge statistical or machine learning models to develop material that gives personalised information to clinicians and patients that is tailored to individual circumstances and illness, presenting a balance of harm and benefit related to their treatment. You will be based on the University of Manchester campus and be part of a project team that is running two large projects. You will be expected to work with stakeholders and patient representative groups to explore the need for personalised information. Throughout all activities, you will be expected to work in a transparent and reproducible manner, including writing coding scripts.
You will hold, or be about to obtain, a PhD or equivalent in statistics, epidemiology or data science or have relevant research experience. You should have a proven ability to work independently, and be able to present results and concepts in an effective manner in both written reports and oral presentations. You should be able to interact effectively with researchers from other disciplines and NHS partners.
