Job Description

Are you a fundraiser looking for a new role where you can grow your skills and raise funds for projects that change the world? How would you like to join one of the UK’s most successful university fundraising teams?

At The University of Manchester, we’re looking for a new Regular Giving Officer to join our team. If you’re an enthusiastic fundraiser ready for your next step, we’d love to hear from you.

As our new Regular Giving Officer, you’ll join an ambitious team delivering a programme of direct fundraising activity including mail, phone and digital appeals. You’ll have the chance to work across channels, and play an important part in raising funds for a broad range of projects - like scholarships, research and our cultural institutions. You’ll also take specific responsibility for our phone campaigns - recruiting, training and leading a team of student fundraisers.

We’re looking for someone full of ideas who’s keen to challenge themselves and continually improve what we’re doing. You’ll have professional experience in a fundraising role, a good understanding of relationship fundraising, and you’ll be skilled at crafting compelling copy. Importantly, you’ll have a strong personal belief in the power of universities to change lives and change the world.

You’ll join a friendly and high-performing Division, full of people who care deeply about what they do. As well as working closely with the rest of the Regular Giving team, you’ll collaborate with colleagues across Donor Relations, Insight & Analytics, Major Gifts and Communications to create an excellent experience for our alumni and supporters.

The ability to work outside of normal office hours (including evenings and some weekends) to deliver our telephone campaigns is essential for this role. These campaigns are currently on pause, but will resume when circumstances allow. This could involve regular evening work (typically working 1:30pm-9:30pm) for up to five weeks of the year, and an adjustment to your normal working hours (typically working 10:00am-6:00pm) for up to ten weeks of the year. This work will normally take place during university term time.

As an equal opportunities employer, we welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons and all appointments will be made on merit. As we are committed to the principles of the Race Equality Charter Mark, we would particularly welcome applications from the Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) community who are currently under-represented at this level in this area.

Blended working arrangements may be considered
