Job Description

The University of Manchester seeks to appoint a Research Associate to work in The Joint UK-India Clean Energy Centre (JUICE) which is helping to decarbonise energy production systems. Both the UK and India have ambitious targets to deploy renewable energy including wind and solar power but the challenge of integrating these intermittent sources remains. JUICE brings together leading energy researchers from ten UK universities with their counterparts across India to share experience and develop technologies critical to the future of sustainable energy systems.

You will be expected to:

  • Develop/apply optimization technique to maximise the use of available variable renewable resource, PV in particular, by efficient control of demand
  • Quantify the impact of demand optimisation and availability of energy storage on efficient use of  available renewable energy resources  to benefit more communities and people
