Job Description

Applications are invited for a data manager in the Radiotherapy Related Research group. You will play a crucial role in managing the expanding number of existing and new radiotherapy research databases. You will ensure the quality of data prior to interrogation and predictive model development. You will also exploit the databases to extract and generate data for peer-reviewed publications, grant applications and audit. You will be expected to develop strong relationships with and work alongside academic, clinical and research staff within the RadNet programme and the wider RRR department. You will also be involved in the further development, management and updating of the cross-cutting data linking system which will allow international multicentre data-sharing and data mining for radiotherapy related research.

This is an exciting opportunity for a new graduate to work as part of the CRUK RadNet Manchester Unit, which was one of only three major units awarded and builds on the 10-year history of an external collaborating “One Manchester” approach to cancer team science in radiotherapy-related research (RRR).  This has been achieved by our multi-disciplinary expertise in biology, clinical oncology, physics, software development, engineering and imaging. Manchester is recognised nationally as a Clinical and Translational Radiotherapy Research Working Group (CTRad) Centre of Excellence in Radiotherapy Research and the only centre in the UK with strength across all disciplines (biology, clinical, physics, technology).

As an equal opportunities employer we welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of age, sex, gender (or gender identity), ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation and transgender status.  All appointments will be made on merit.

Happy to talk flexible working.
