
The University of Manchester seeks to appoint a Research Associate in Urban Green Infrastructure to support the IGNITION project (Innovative financing and delivery of natural climate solutions in Greater Manchester). The project is funded via the European Commission Urban Innovation Action programme.
The objectives of the IGNITION project are:
Establish a pipeline of Nature Based Solutions (NBS) projects to increase Greater Manchester’s (GM) urban Green Infrastructure (GI) by 10% by 2038, and establish phases valued at €10m+ to attract investment
Establish innovative business models and financing mechanisms to enable investment in Phase 1 of the pipeline
Build investor confidence in GM NBS projects
Establish a GM Climate Adaptation Services Company to deliver Phase 1 of the pipeline.
