
We have an exciting opportunity to appoint a talented and ambitious investigator to join The Centre for Genetics and Genomics Versus Arthritis (http://www.cfgg.manchester.ac.uk/) which is a centre of excellence dedicated to investigating genetic and genomic risk factors for inflammatory arthritis based at the University of Manchester. This post is jointly funded by the British Heart Foundation and Versus Arthritis and will initially focus on a project entitled “Cardiovascular health in patients with inflammatory joint diseases: a genetic approach to understanding excess mortality”. There will be further opportunities for the successful candidate to explore other areas of interest in the Centre.
You will have a background in statistical genetics, bioinformatics or health data science with a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant subject. You will join a team of geneticists, clinicians and statisticians to better understand inflammation and inflammatory arthritis. You will have access to the Centre’s wealth of genetic, epidemiological and genomics data to lead statistical and bioinformatics analyses that investigate disease mechanisms with a particular focus on comorbidities initially.
