This is an exciting opportunity for a Researcher to support the pre-clinical development of effective radiotherapy-immunotherapy combinations for cancer treatment which could ultimately translate into the clinic.
You will be based in the Targeted Therapy Group investigating the mechanisms of combining radiotherapy and immunotherapy to improve cancer outcomes. Radiotherapy can induce a variety of immunogenic and phenotypic changes in tumour cells altering the immune contexture of the tumour microenvironment. Therefore, radiotherapy has the potential to enhance cancer immunity, providing a sound rationale for combination with immunotherapeutic agents. This project specifically aims to further investigate the importance of T-cell survival and the evolution of effective systemic T-cell immunity that leads to durable tumour control. The project will study mechanisms of T-cell re-population following radiotherapy in tumour models that respond to radiotherapy and anti-PD1/PD-L1 combinations.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated individual from a biological or medical sciences background with extensive experience in T cell biology. You will be working alongside a team of researchers and have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, and a proven track record of delivering research with evidence of objectives and deliverables met is also required, alongside a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
