Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Trials Programme Manager to work within the Manchester Clinical Trials Unit (Manchester CTU), providing operational leadership and core management capability for the Trials Management team. The Manchester CTU is an essential core resource for clinical and academic investigators and provides a wide range of services supporting the conduct of investigator-initiated clinical trials across Greater Manchester, the North West and the UK.

You will provide core management capability for a programme of investigator-initiated clinical trials, to ensure the successful delivery of a portfolio of studies managed through the Unit, and that these meet the requirements of all legal and regulatory obligations. You will manage a team of Lead Clinical Trial Managers to ensure that Manchester CTU clinical trials are delivered to the specified service standards, and conducted in compliance with regulatory requirements. This is a key position in the Unit and it provides an ideal opportunity to contribute to the success of the Unit as it develops its portfolio.

You will have significant experience in coordinating and managing clinical trials with demonstrable ability to lead a team of trials staff. An understanding of clinical research and trial management methodology is essential, as well as practical knowledge of the regulatory requirements for the conduct and audit of clinical trials. Excellent communication skills are essential, alongside the ability to work independently, managing your own workload and that of others, and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

As an equal opportunities employer we welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of age, sex, gender (or gender identity), ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation and transgender status.  All appointments will be made on merit.
