Job Description

Applications are invited for the part-time (0.5 FTE), fixed-term, teaching-focused post of Lecturer in Modern Islam which is tenable from 1 September 2021 for a period of 10 months. 

You must have a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant field, submitted or very near completion, and demonstrable university-level teaching experience in modern Islamic cultural studies and/or history with a focus on the Middle East. You must be fluent in English and, ideally, in Arabic too. You must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to empathise with students. Experience with virtual learning environments and in developing online teaching materials are essential.
