About this role
An opening has arisen for an experienced Oracle Financials Functional Analyst to join the Finance, Application Support team in IT Services.  The role is a 23 month FTC providing support to the team during the period of a major finance systems upgrade.
The team is responsible for the development and maintenance of a number of core business applications - including Oracle eBusiness Suite (R12) Financials - the University’s central Finance platform. 

We are seeking a candidate with a detailed working knowledge of General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable (including advanced collections) & Projects. A knowledge of iProcurement, Purchasing, Inventory, EAM would also be useful. A successful candidate will join our team of people supporting this application and the various supporting applications that we have. 

The Financials Functional Analyst role involves working with business users and IT colleagues to understand their issues and requirements; to define and configure fixes and solutions; and to put these into place. This will primarily be a day-to-day support role, however occasional short-medium term assignments to ongoing projects may form part of this role.

Essential role requirements 
•    Oracle eBusiness Suite Financials modules (ideally eBusiness Suite R12) 
o    General Ledger
o    Accounts Payable
o    Accounts Receivable
o    Projects
•    Experience supporting a core Finance system
•    Oracle SQL / PLSQL

Desirable role requirements
•    Experience of working in a Higher Education environment 
•    Experience of patching / testing eBusiness suite applications.
•    Experience working alongside a vendor (preferably Oracle) to resolve issues and ensure continual progress on issues. 
•    Working in an ITIL environment
Other experience that would be useful / may be taken into account: 
•    Knowledge of other Finance systems
•    Basic business analysis / business process / requirements gathering skills
