Job Description

Applications are invited for the role of Faculty RS Operations Manager to join the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health’s Research and Business Services Team. The post-holder will be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive, efficient and effective Research Services support for the Faculty and will manage the development and delivery of integrated and effective Research Services (RS). The RS Operations Manager will work closely with senior academic and professional services staff including the Associate Deans for Research and Innovation, Heads of School and Heads of School Operations to ensure Research Services is achieving and maintaining a high standard of service delivery to academic and other service users.

Reporting to the Head of Faculty Research and Business Support Services, the RS Operations Managers will be expected to work together as a leadership team, sharing expertise and good practice and providing mutual cover and support as required. The RS Operations Managers will also work closely with the Research Strategy and Innovation team and with colleagues across the University Research and Business Engagement Support Services (RBESS) directorate.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager seeking to support the Faculty’s strategic objectives and further their career in research support. The successful candidate will have considerable experience of line management and working in research support. You must be able to work collaboratively and proactively across organisational boundaries. Excellent communication and team working skills are essential.

The role is available immediately and offered as secondment cover until 31st July 2022.
