The Team 
As part of ITS, the Strategy & Architecture team leads definition and agreement of ITS strategy and shaping understanding of University IT need, translating this into standards, roadmaps and solutions for our IT estate and the services this enables.  
The strategy and architecture function is a specialised team with skills in business architecture, business analysis, information architecture, solution architecture and infrastructure architecture, accountable for:
Supporting definition and agreement with stakeholders of an ITS strategic plan, principles and an operating model design that can enable the success of ITS
Architectural governance, translating ITS strategy into design principles, standards and guidance 
Business architecture services to the organisation to review the effectiveness of current capabilities, supporting definition of opportunities for change, specifying requirements, and supporting management of the University change portfolio
Target enterprise architecture, realised as designs for solutions that span our estate and roadmaps for the development of applications, technology and services

This Role 
Reporting directly to the Strategy & Architecture Manager, you will be a highly engaging and customer-focused individual who possesses an enthusiasm for working within the largest University in the UK.

In support of a number of major change programmes within the University you’ll be able to demonstrate your experience of being able to define, develop and implement organisation wide IT strategies and large scale IT solutions, in line with good practice, ensuring value is delivered the University.
You’ll lead the creation and maintenance of target enterprise architecture, developing roadmaps for the overall target state of the IT estate.  You’ll translate ITS strategy into design principles, standards and guidance and ensuring our IT estate is managed against these standards through the ITS Technical Design Authority.

You’ll contribute to specific programmes of work and projects by designing and guiding solutions enabling change to IT services, working with Engineering teams and suppliers through the change management and project lifecycle and using agreed processes and governance to evolve and agree designs from options through to implementation.

Good engagement, collaboration and influencing skills are a must as this will ensure cross University buy in to our proposed strategies and gain University funding and support for our strategic solutions. 

You’ll have good technical skills, knowledge and experience gained across a range of applications, technologies and data.  As a great communicator, you’ll be able to use your experience to help others, giving guidance and support to a diverse range of people in realizing and implementing solutions.
