
This is an exciting opportunity for a Research Assistant to work within the Biomarker and Early Phase Trial Hub of the RadNet programme of radiotherapy research and Translational Radiobiology group.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-motivated individual from a biological sciences background with experience of working on clinical research projects. The purpose of the role is to support the translational research for an enlarging portfolio of clinical studies, examples include CRAIN and MR-BIO. Working within a team of researchers and clinicians, you will be responsible for tracking and processing clinical samples; both tumour biopsies and blood samples, carrying out RNA and DNA extraction and downstream assays. The post holder will need a strong eye for detail, ability to work both independently and collaboratively with excellent communication and organisational skills.
The position is funded by Cancer Research UK RadNet Manchester. CRUK RadNet Manchester, in collaboration with The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, will develop an integrated world-leading radiation oncology programme working towards personalised physical and biological testing based on real-time outcomes and a mechanistic understanding of the tumour microenvironment, immune response, comorbidity and genomics.
