Job Description

This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to work on a two-year Management Knowledge Transfer Partnership (mKTP) project with University of Manchester and Jackson Lees Group.  A Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) is a UK Government scheme intended to promote sustained and mutually beneficial relationships between universities and industry.  The mKTP project will make a tangible difference to the business and will provide the post-holder with wide-ranging and senior level experience and an opportunity to lead a project across a range of business functions.  This will include the opportunity to introduce and embed a novel psychometric tool within a broader AI-based client management system that will improve lawyer-client relationships at JLG.

UoM and JLG are looking to recruit a behavioural psychology researcher to undertake this project which has an overall aim of developing and implementing a new personality assessment tool. The tool is intended to facilitate the matching process between lawyers and clients at JLG, such that their working relationship and communication is enhanced. The KTP Associate will work in tandem with an AI/Data Science Associate, who will be integrating the new tool into practice within JLG.

The position will provide the successful candidate with a genuinely unique opportunity to work at the interface of cutting-edge psychometrics research and practice. With the principle tasks being the rigorous development and implementation of a state-of-the-art psychological tool in a business context.

Candidates will require a Masters degree (2:1/merit equivalent or higher) in Behavioural/Organisational/Work/Business Psychology or a closely related discipline with a focus on psychometrics.

Based at JLG in Liverpool the successful candidate will work directly with supervisors from both the UoM and JLG. The facilities and resources of both organisations will be made available to successfully complete the project.

As an equal opportunities employer we welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of age, sex, gender (or gender identity), ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation and transgender status.  All appointments are made on merit.
