
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious graduate with the ability and confidence to manage a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project with Saraco Industries Ltd.
The University of Manchester and Saraco are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and organised individual post-doctoral graduate to undertake this 30 month project which has an overall aim to develop, embed and exploit advanced bioengineering and microbiology expertise to develop novel biodegradable wipes for clinical settings.
The position will provide the successful candidate with a unique opportunity to translate novel ideas regarding fibre and surfactant technology into clinical wet wipe application area. The candidate will develop important regulatory skills and knowledge whilst building on existing fibre technology, biocompatibility and microbiological skill sets.
Candidates will require a recently-obtained minimum of a 2:1 degree (or equivalent) and PhD in a biomaterials related field. Experience in mammalian and antimicrobial cell culture is desirable.
This post is funded through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) award, a UK Government scheme intended to promote sustained and mutually beneficial relationships between universities and industry.
Based at Saraco Industries Ltd in Bolton, the successful candidate will work directly with supervisors from both the University and Saraco and will use the facilities and resources of both organisations.
