Job Description

The Centre for Epidemiology Versus Arthritis seeks to appoint an enthusiastic Research Assistant to provide support to researchers in the Centre for Epidemiology Versus Arthritis.  Specifically, you will be involved in the process of transforming and mapping data from one "raw" data form into another format. Your goal will be to assess data quality and to prepare datasets that are ready for researchers to analyse.

The Centre for Epidemiology Versus Arthritis is a vibrant, interdisciplinary research centre that aims to improve the lives of people with musculoskeletal (MSK) diseases. We do this by understanding how commonly MSK disease occurs, the impact that it has on patients, and the safety and effectiveness of treatments.  The Centre is founded on a strong legacy of MSK epidemiology in Manchester dating back to the 1950s, and has evolved to deliver best practice for modern epidemiology in the 21st Century. Our research has local, national and global impact upon clinical practice, policy, guidelines, and on patients, their families and the wider community.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Centre for Epidemiology Versus Arthritis undertaking research into the occurrence, causation, impact and outcome of the major musculoskeletal disorders.

The successful candidate will be based in Centre for Epidemiology at The University of Manchester.

As an equal opportunities employer we welcome applicants from all sections of the community regardless of age, sex, gender (or gender identity), ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation and transgender status.  All appointments are made on merit.
