Job Description

The Research Finance department at University of Manchester sits within the Directorate of Finance is responsible for managing annual research income of around £400 million from a portfolio of 2,500 live research grants and contracts across the three University Faculties.

You will work as part of a group of colleagues within an RS Delivery Team to assist the delivery of services that maximise our ability to financially plan, manage and monitor research grants and contracts and deliver a high-quality research support service to academic and other service users. You will report to the Senior Research Finance Officer.
You will be a highly organised, self-starter who is able to form strong working relationships with other members of the RSS team.

Your key deliverables include:

  • Provide assistance to the Research Support Service Delivery Team
  • Set-up and maintain project files in Oracle Financials
  • Undertake storage of project documentation and records in line with the funder's and legal requirements
  • Collate documentation for internal and external reporting requirements e.g. funder assurance visits
  • Prepare and submit claims and statements to funders/customers for basic research projects
  • Monitor the School Research Finance shared email inbox, investigate & resolve queries in liaison with other team members as appropriate.
