
The University of Manchester is looking to recruit a number of Workstream Managers to support the Finance Transformation Programme (FTP). This is an exciting opportunity for finance professionals with business experience to be part of a large business transformation programme delivering systems, process and business change and delivering significant business change to modernise and standardise the financial processes and structures in operation within the University.
The Workstream Managers will be key members of the project team in supporting one or more work stream leads in delivering the project. They will work closely with other members of the project team, including business staff, systems accountants, technical staff, business analysts and the wider finance user base of the University and undertake a wide range of duties to support the project. In particular we are seeking people with relevant experience to work with the general ledger, multi company and projects workstreams. The roles will include advising technical staff on business related issues, and preparing for and leading meetings with other members of the workstream and stakeholders and undertaking tasks on the programme plan relating to the workstream. It will also include working with the project managers to ensure the plan is understood and being delivered, the systems accountants to advise from the business perspective on technical and configuration issues, and the training and change leads on the programme to ensure these considerations are being addressed within the workstream. The post holder will also lead from the business perspective on data cleansing and user acceptance testing activities.
The post holders will be team players with a flexible approach and excellent communication skills and in-depth knowledge of the workstream, able to balance conflicting deadlines and who would enjoy working in a fast paced, demanding project role.
The role will involve requirements gathering, developing system specifications, producing documentation, functional system development, supporting work streams, data analysis, data cleansing, designing business processes and checking accounting processes are working correctly, report development, supporting system testing including writing test scripts and testing, data migration, user training and business support following project implementation. They will be expected to be able to work flexibly and to tight deadlines, both as part of a multi-disciplinary team and independently to deliver packages of work.
