An opportunity exists for the Landscape Foreperson within the Environmental Services Unit who will be responsible to carry out horticulture skills and to supervise staff necessary in the maintenance and construction of landscaped areas within the grounds of the University campus to ensure the delivery of a high quality service.
This is on a permanent 35 hour a week basis Monday to Friday 08.00 – 15.30 reporting to the Environmental Services Deputy Manager.
A current full U.K. driving licence is required and you need to be able to drive a variety of vehicles and machinery to undertake maintenance and supervision of the landscaped grounds.
High level of knowledge and experience in horticultural is required to provide guidance to staff and in order to assist the Unit Manager.
You will possess excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills and have a “can do” attitude.
You will also have experience at supervising groups of multi-disciplinary craft and manual staff and in documenting and recording work sheets whilst ensuring information is appropriate to the tasks of the Environmental Services Unit.
Must have working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and requirements in ensuring safe systems of work adhered to.
