Job Description

Applications are sought for the role of School Operations Manager. The role has a key strategic and operational role in the structure of the School of Medical Sciences. The post holder will support the Head of School Operations and Head of School in the development and implementation of the School’s strategy, planning and governance, and in the day-to-day management of the School. On behalf of the School Leadership Team, the successful applicant will ensure compliance requirements are met, including General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). Overseeing the School Operations team, the post holder has managerial responsibility for general School operations and the provision of advice and support on planning, compliance and governance matters to the Heads of Divisions. The post holder will co-lead a cross-School community of practice with School Operations colleagues, working towards continuous business improvement and standardisation. They will engage with business partners throughout the University and have an excellent understanding of its strategic aims, governance and infrastructure.  The role holder will work closely with the Head of Teaching Learning and Student Experience to promote a consistent, collaborative and supportive working environment in all areas professional services within the School. The post holder will deputise for the Head of School Operations as required. The role operates within a culture of continuous business improvement, innovation and change and the post-holder will proactively review and develop those activities for which they are responsible.
