
The Disability Advisory and Support Service (DASS) is delighted to advertise this exciting opportunity for an Assistant Disability Advisor to join the team at the University of Manchester. The post is fixed term for a period of 1 year (maternity cover).
As part of the DASS, you will contribute to a student-centred specialist advice and guidance service. You will advise students on applications for external allowances and the support available to them and carry out assessments of their needs. You will develop positive working relationships with University departments to support them in the delivery of adjustments. You will have a good knowledge of the Equalities Act and other relevant legislation. You will strive for continuous improvement to the service delivered by the department.
You will be educated to at least degree standard (or equivalent). Communication and assessment skills will be fundamental to the role as will a commitment to responding to the needs of disabled students and the delivery of a positive student experience. You will have excellent interpersonal, attention to detail and communication skills and be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
