Job Description

The Faculty of Humanities is one of three Faculties in the University of Manchester and consists of four Schools that offer an unprecedented range of innovative programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate level.​​​​​​​

The Faculty of Humanities is looking to appoint a full-time Learning Designer, who will join the Humanities eLearning team, on a permanent basis.

The Learning Designer will be part of the eLearning team and of a wider Teaching Learning and Student Experience (TLSE) team conducting curriculum design interventions to enhance the distinctiveness and quality of programmes of study in Humanities, embedding in the curriculum flexible, inclusive and blended learning approaches that support effective student learning, student voice, wellbeing and an outstanding student experience.

We welcome applications from individuals with teaching and curriculum design experience in HE or FE, including educational developers, educational technologists, instructional designers and curriculum developers.

At Manchester we are positive about flexible working and our staff undertake a wide range of flexible working arrangements including job shares, part-time, part-time/ term-time, condensed hours and flexi-time. However, as the role we are recruiting for involves a good degree of on-campus operations, these roles are not suitable for fully distance or home working on a permanent basis. This post is contracted to be based at University of Manchester Oxford Road, no expenses will be paid for commuting or travel to and from Manchester.
